House of Commons November 2017

In November 2017, I was invited to attend the ten year anniversary of the Atrial Fibrillation Association. Professor John Camm, leading arrhythmia specialist, paid tribute to CEO and founder Trudie Lobban.
He also spoke about stroke risk in patients with AF and that oral anticoagulants reduce this by 70-75%. He also said that the lifetime risk from age 40 upwards has increased, it is now 1 in 4, that's 25%. This highlights the need for increased awareness of AF and opportunist pulse checks.
