ECG - Electrogardiogram
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple test that can be used to check your heart's rhythm and electrical activity.

Ambulatory ECG monitor
Ambulatory ECG monitoring systems can record the heart rhythm for prolonged periods of time.
If Atrial Fibrillation is diagnosed, it is important to get an idea of frequency of episodes and heart rate variation. This procedure is also useful to ensure that medication is effective.

Echocardiogram (Echo)
Echo imaging provides detailed information about cardiac anatomy and function. In patients with AF is useful for the assessment of cardiac chamber sizes and function as well as assessment of valves.

Cardiologist Consultation
If you are invited to speak to a Cardiologist, in person or by phone, you may be asked general and specific health questions related to your symptoms or diagnosis. A physical examination may be part of this and, if necessary the Cardiologist might arrange for further testing or investigations and might also prescribe medication or other recommendations to your GP.
This is your opportunity to ask any questions you may have, so make the most of your consultation time.
